Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your HomeBit account and personal information. You can submit a deletion request from any browser, without reinstalling the HomeBit app.
How to Request Deletion
Choose any of the options below. All requests are honored.
Option 1 — In the HomeBit app
If you have the app installed, open Settings > Account > Delete Account and follow the prompts. This is the fastest path because we can verify your identity automatically.
Option 2 — Email us
Send a message to privacy@homebit.com with the subject line Delete Account Request. Please include the phone number and/or email address associated with your HomeBit account so we can locate it.
Option 3 — Use our Support Form
Submit a request through our Support Form and select "Delete My Information" from the request-type menu.
What Gets Deleted
When we process a verified deletion request, we delete the following from our active production systems:
- Your account profile (phone number, email, name, profile data)
- Home information you've added (property details, utility bills, repair receipts, maintenance records, photos and documents)
- Messages, support requests, and feedback you've submitted
- Usage and analytics data linked to your account identifier
- Subscription entitlement state stored by HomeBit
What May Be Retained
We may retain a limited subset of information after deletion when permitted or required by law. This retained data is segregated and used only for the purposes listed:
- Transaction and billing records required by tax, accounting, and financial-reporting laws (typically 7 years).
- Records needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements.
- De-identified or aggregate data that can no longer reasonably be linked to you.
- Backups, which are overwritten on our standard rotation schedule (typically within 90 days).
Subscriptions Purchased Through Apple or Google
Deleting your HomeBit account does not automatically cancel a HomeBit Plus subscription you purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. To stop future renewals, please also cancel your subscription:
- iPhone / iPad: open Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions
- Android: visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
Refunds for App Store / Play Store purchases are handled by Apple and Google. See our Terms of Use §5.7 for details. To cancel a HomeBit Hero subscription (billed by HomeBit through Stripe), email support@homebit.com or use the in-app Subscription screen.
How Long It Takes
We confirm receipt of your request within 5 business days. We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before deletion; if so, we will contact you using the email or phone number on file. You will receive an email confirming when deletion is complete.
